About Us
Welcome to Mississippi (MU State) Kappa Kappa Iota’s website. MU State is one of twenty-one state chapters of the National Kappa Kappa Iota educators’ organization! The purpose of this organization is to promote the advancement of education by providing an effective network for the exchange of education and teaching practices by educators. Kappa Kappa Iota has the distinction of being the oldest organization for educators in the United States with emphasis on philanthropy, professional development, networking and scholarships.

MU STATE CONVENTION (April 25-April 26, 2025)

Friday, April 25, 2025
Location: Union County Heritage Museum (114 Cleveland St., New Albany, MS)
-6 pm “Dinner/Welcome Program” at Union County Heritage Museum
-Following the Dinner (approximately 7:30 pm) Mu State Executive Committee Meeting (includes Mu State Officers & State Committee Chairs) at Museum
Saturday, April 26, 2025
Location: Ripley First Baptist Church (202 East Pine St., Ripley, MS)
-9:30 am-10:00 am Registration and Continental Breakfast (Bring Local Chapter Story Board and 2 silent auction items per chapter)
-10:00 am-3:00 pm Mu State Convention
HOTEL RESERVATIONS: Please reserve your hotel room at Hampton Inn-New Albany (662-534-7722) no later than Friday, April 11th. Address is 320 Coulter Cove, New Albany, MS. King room rate is $124 (plus tax) and Queen Room (2 beds) is $129 (plus tax). A hot breakfast is included with stay.
